About
Macau Palace was a floating casino moored in Macau Inner Harbour, opened in 1962 by then casino monopoly operator STDM under Stanley Ho. The vessel featured traditional Chinese architectural styling with ornate details and bright nighttime lighting and offered baccarat, sic bo, fan-tan and slot machines aimed primarily at local players. The casino briefly gained international fame as a backdrop in the 1974 James Bond film The Man With the Golden Gun. The floating casino has long been closed and is undergoing revitalisation as a dining, retail and gaming culture museum complex.
