About
Casino Monte Picayo was a hotel-casino complex in Puzol, Valencia, Spain that opened in 1979 as the second casino licensed in the country during the post-Franco transition. Through the 1980s the venue hosted celebrity galas, conventions, and weddings, becoming an emblem of Valencian high society. From the 1990s onward visitor numbers declined, and operator Cirsa closed Monte Picayo permanently on 19 October 2014 after relocating activity to its new Casino Cirsa Valencia. The former hotel building still stands above the Puzol motorway and was acquired by shipping group Boluda for redevelopment.
