Casino Omaha was opened by the Omaha Tribe of Nebraska and Iowa in July 1992 on the Blackbird Bend reservation lands along the Missouri River near Onawa, Iowa. The original property was remodeled and reopened in October 2010 as a new CasinOmaha, then closed in June 2011 due to historic Missouri River flooding. The casino reopened in January 2013 as Blackbird Bend Casino in a temporary structure, with a permanent modern facility completed in February 2014. The property is roughly 25 minutes south of Sioux City and 45 minutes north of Omaha and offers slots, table games and a casual restaurant.
