About
Costa Tropicale was a Costa Cruises vessel originally built in 1982 as the first newbuild for Carnival Cruise Line, transferred to Costa in July 2001 and renamed Costa Tropicale after a 25 million USD refit in Genoa. While operating under Costa branding the ship featured an onboard casino with slot machines and table games on Mediterranean and other itineraries. The ship was transferred to P&O Cruises Australia as Pacific Star in 2005, later sold to Pullmantur as Ocean Dream and finally to Peace Boat. The vessel was scrapped in January 2021 and the Costa-branded casino is no longer in operation.
