About
Marsa Race Track, operated by the Malta Racing Club, is the centre of horse racing in Malta and lies near Valletta. The course began operating in 1868 and reopened in December 1945 after wartime closure. The track is over 1,000 metres long with both flat and harness racing, and a 1981 reconstruction added a grandstand for 2,000 spectators. Facilities include parking, betting kiosks, bars and restaurants.
