About

Rideau Carleton Raceway is a standardbred harness racing track in Ottawa, Ontario, that opened in 1962 as Canada's first five-eighths mile harness racing oval. The site evolved into a gaming and entertainment destination with a $350 million Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Ottawa expansion, adding a 150-room hotel including 22 suites, up to 1,500 slot machines, 40 live-action table games, and a high-limit gaming area. Following discussions with Ontario Racing, the track concluded its racing program in 2026 after more than 60 years. The casino continues to operate under the Hard Rock brand on Albion Road, south of downtown Ottawa.
