About
Royal City Star Riverboat Casino was British Columbia's first destination riverboat casino, docked at Westminster Quay Market on the Fraser River in New Westminster. The vessel, originally built in 1993 by Halter Marine Inc. in Lockport, Louisiana as the Queen of New Orleans, hosted 345 slot machines and 18 table games. Gateway Casinos closed the riverboat casino on December 9, 2007, relocating operations to a new 100,000 square foot land-based gaming centre in New Westminster. The vessel is no longer in use for gaming.
