About
The Jai Alai complex in Macau was originally built in 1975 to stage Jai Alai matches, a Basque handball sport, with games held there for approximately two decades. Under SJM Holdings, the venue reopened as Casino Oceanus at Jai Alai on 15 December 2009 as a modern gaming venue near the Macau ferry terminal. Casino Jai Alai later closed in February 2013 for redevelopment, with the refurbished complex reopening by 2017 featuring approximately 35 gaming tables, 100 slot machines and 132 hotel rooms. SJM Holdings owns and operates the casino and manages the Jai Alai Hotel.
