About
Officer's Casino in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, is a historical 1881 building designed by Karl Pařík in the Romantic style, originally constructed to serve as the social hall for Austro-Hungarian officers stationed in the city. The first public concert in Sarajevo's history was held here on 11 December 1881 under bandmaster Franz Lehar Sr. The structure, also known as the Officers' Club, was extended with a second floor in 1912 to add a large concert hall. The building today functions as Dom Oružanih snaga BiH (Armed Forces Hall of Bosnia and Herzegovina) for cultural events, not as a licensed gambling casino.
