About
The Palais Beaumont is a Belle Epoque landmark in Pau, France, designed by architect Emile Bertrand in Neo-Rococo style and constructed between 1895 and 1899. Inaugurated in 1900, it has successively served as a winter palace, casino and First World War hospital, becoming Pau s premier convention center after restoration in 1999. After the First World War the Societe des Casinos de Cannes et Deauville managed the premises, transforming them with a rectangular hall and a semi-circular rotunda. Today the venue operates as a historic conference centre with state-of-the-art meeting facilities, a casino and two restaurants, capable of hosting up to 750 guests in the heart of Parc Beaumont against the Pyrenees backdrop.
