About
The Hotel de l Officier General des Salines, also known as the Maison dite de l Abbaye, is a historic monument in Salins-les-Bains in the Jura department of eastern France. Inscribed as a historical monument in 1957, the building was the residence of the official overseeing the towns famous Grande Saline salt operation, which ran for 1,200 years until 1962. The Salines of Salins-les-Bains were inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2009 as a complement to the Saline Royale d Arc-et-Senans listing of 1982. Located on rue du Bourg-Dessous with a portal on rue de la Republique, the building is a historic civic landmark rather than an active gaming establishment.
