About
Waux-hall de Spa is a historical entertainment building in Spa, Liège Province, Belgium, inaugurated in 1770 and built in three phases between 1769 and 1779 by architect Jacques-Barthélemy Renoz. It served as one of Europe's earliest public gaming halls, hosting balls, concerts, and table-game gambling for spa visitors during the 18th and 19th centuries. The building was classified as a Belgian monument in 1936 and added to Wallonia's exceptional heritage list in 1993. Casino operations long since moved to the modern Casino de Spa nearby; the Waux-hall today functions as a heritage and event venue rather than a working casino.
