About

Cassino Antarctica was a historical land-based casino and theatre in Ribeirão Preto, São Paulo state, Brazil, inaugurated in 1914 on Anhangabaú street. The Theatro Cassino Antarctica hosted theatrical revues, dances, gambling, and live performances and was patronised by coffee colonels, politicians, and visiting foreigners during the early 20th century. The casino ceased operations following the federal gambling prohibition introduced in 1946. The building has fallen into ruin and is now considered an at-risk heritage site of Ribeirão Preto, no longer functioning as a casino.
