About
Casino Municipal de Wimereux was constructed in 1903 in the seaside resort town of Wimereux, Pas-de-Calais. The casino was built on the initiative of Marius Beranger by architect Ernest Delcroix and included a theater modeled on Sarah Bernhardts venue, hosting major performances including the Opera Comique de Paris. Beranger added the adjacent Splendid Hotel between 1905 and 1906. The casino building was destroyed during World War II as the resort was rebuilt slowly after the conflict.
