Encore Boston Harbor Strike Concludes as Workers Approve New Labor Deal

A labor strike that halted operations at Wynn Resorts’ Encore Boston Harbor casino for two months has officially ended. The walkout concluded Thursday, Nov. 5, after approximately 1,300 employees voted to ratify a new collective bargaining agreement.

The strike began on Sept. 4, shortly after the expiration of the previous labor contract. Workers represented by UNITE HERE Local 26 and Teamsters Local 25 participated in the work stoppage, which disrupted casino and hotel services at the Massachusetts property.

The labor dispute coincided with a notable drop in gaming revenue at Encore Boston Harbor during the strike period. The financial impact was reported as the casino struggled to maintain normal operations with reduced staffing.

Details of the newly ratified contract have not been disclosed, but the agreement was sufficient to bring both unions back to the bargaining table and end the prolonged standoff. The resolution allows the casino to resume full operations and begin recovering from the revenue losses incurred during the strike.

The end of the strike marks a return to normalcy for the property, which had faced operational challenges and customer disruptions since early September. Both unions and management have expressed satisfaction with the outcome, though specific terms remain confidential.
