Frontier Airlines Adds Las Vegas Routes to Oakland and Boise After Spirit Exit

Frontier Airlines launches Las Vegas flights to Oakland and Boise, partially restoring routes dropped by Spirit Airlines before its May 2026 shutdown.

Frontier Airlines Adds Las Vegas Routes to Oakland and Boise After Spirit Exit

Frontier Airlines has announced new nonstop flights from Las Vegas to Oakland, California, and Boise, Idaho, filling gaps left by Spirit Airlines' departure from those routes. The routes were previously served by Spirit before it ceased operations in May 2026.

Frontier will operate 11 weekly flights between Las Vegas and Oakland, and four weekly flights to Boise. This represents a significant reduction compared to Spirit's former service levels, which included 25 weekly flights to Oakland and seven to Boise.

The new routes are part of Frontier's ongoing effort to capture market share in the Las Vegas travel market following Spirit's shutdown. The airline has been gradually adding capacity on routes where Spirit previously dominated.

Travelers flying between Las Vegas and these two cities will now have fewer flight options than before, as Frontier's schedule does not match Spirit's previous frequency. The reduced service may lead to higher fares or less flexibility for passengers on these routes.

Frontier's expansion comes as the Las Vegas tourism market continues to recover and adapt to changes in the airline industry. The city remains a major hub for leisure and business travel, with airlines competing for routes to key West Coast and intermountain destinations.
