Sigma Derby Revival: Modern Mechanical Horse Racing Game Headed to Four Queens
A newly manufactured version of the classic Sigma Derby mechanical horse racing game will debut at Four Queens in Las Vegas next year.
One of Las Vegas’ most beloved vintage casino attractions is set to return. A modernized edition of Sigma Derby, the mechanical horse-racing game that captivated players for decades, will be installed at the Four Queens casino on Fremont Street in 2026, according to a report from the Las Vegas Advisor.
The updated machine marks the first newly manufactured Sigma Derby unit to be placed in a Nevada casino in many years. While the original electro-mechanical games were once a staple across Las Vegas and other Nevada gaming floors, their numbers dwindled as casinos replaced them with video slots and digital racing games.
Sigma Derby was known for its physical miniature horses that race around a motorized track, with players betting on outcomes using coins. The game developed a cult following for its nostalgic charm and social atmosphere, often surrounded by cheering crowds.
Four Queens, located in the historic Fremont Street Experience, has maintained a reputation for preserving classic casino offerings. The addition of a new Sigma Derby unit aligns with that strategy, appealing to both longtime fans and a new generation of players seeking a hands-on, retro gaming experience.
An exact installation date has not been announced, but the Las Vegas Advisor indicated the game is slated to debut sometime next year. Further details on the machine’s design or betting mechanics were not disclosed.
